Old songs still sound great, to me

posted in music |

The things we learn! It seems that I grew up in a time where talent counted for something, and the musicians that sounded good in ’70 still catch my ear, a half century later. I came across two different live concert videos by Pentangle. Real musicians, with nothing manufactured about their sound (acoustic). I will return, because good merits more than a single sitting. There hasn’t been much live music in my life, this last year (not pointing fingers). Digging deep into the archives is just a compensatory mechanism.

It’s that time of the year where the weather can “turn on a dime”, as they say. Today, snow squalls. That’s where we go from sunny to “can’t see a thing outside” in a moment, and then return to sunny within the time it takes to prepare a complaint to the responsible parties.

What with the mixed messages about vaccinations, someone has clued in; take whatever you can get, when offered some serum. Don’t let the government trick you, because someone read the wrong press release.

I hate when the IT team loses touch with reality. In the case of our taxes, with uncertainty about user credentials, the team didn’t fix things. Instead, the “door has been locked”, which removes access to personal accounts for almost a million people. Wondering about how much you owe, or if your forms have been processed? Continue to wonder. The system doesn’t care (they already have your money, in the majority of cases). Oh, and don’t think you can send them an email, because the IT people have erased that access as a precautionary move.. They’ll get back to you, promise.
