Building a big box
The two dogs are testing the room. They’ve figured that if there’s enough noise, I’ll dig into my stash of biscuits. Buying peace. I’ve got an alternative: one is now outside where the wind blows cool, and the other doesn’t know what happens next. Keep them guessing.
We are now a two-fryer household. Although I’ve never actually used the (original) air fryer, I’ve enjoyed my steaks and chops. We’ve used the gadget enough that all the factory markings are worn off (makes setting the temperature into a challenge). However, a delivery van pulled in this afternoon with a replacement model. I’m overcome with the ease of it all. No need to go to a mall, or try to pick out the appropriate size. I simply demonstrated the volumes involved, using a handy milk jug. And now, here we are…
On today’s construction manifest, the setting in place of a “box to surround the chiller pipes”. I am fascinated with the process (mainly because I would have no idea how to proceed). My woodworking background involved a shellacked window stick. Never learned the good stuff. That’s why we live with an artisan. OK, I exaggerate, a little. But my long idyllic (and silent) afternoons at home are done for now. Keeps me invested in the project, if only to force a return to normality.
And elsewhere, NL is now dealing with a sudden uptick in infections. That five hour ferry ride wasn’t sufficient. The only variation from “the rest of Canada” is that their cohort is much younger than predicted. Party animals, probably. I hope this is a weak strain.
