Hit the reset button
Somewhere, the sun is shining, again. After four years of tension, they hit the reset switch, and the dark clouds rolled away. Let’s call today DAY ONE, and relax.
So, how did I spend my new day? Well, as usual, trying to decode the data and produce a coherent family tree for someone I have never met. In this case, the spouse of a cousin. I asked the family for details. Or, at a minimum, a seed of names. Got the wrong information (to their chagrin). Sent my “best fit” scenario, which now looks to be right on the money, and I can carry on trying to produce a full circle. Harder than it sounds, when dealing with records from provinces such as Ontario. So many people, so little record keeping on display. No matter.
I saw a request from someone (away), expressing their hope to come into our little world of health. Wanting to plant trees. Well, perhaps January might not be the best moment to come by. And the collective replied: stay away. We have enough trees. Perhaps by the end of the summer we’ll need some more. I think we’re going to have a few more requests from(away), and our government will have to remember that we closed up the proverbial gates for a reason. We don’t want what you have.
And, in Alberta, the sadness swelled higher. Their intended pipeline, going south, just got cancelled. Along with a great deal of government grant money. I am so glad that I don’t want/need any more petroleum in my life.
