My circling son

posted in genealogy |

Finally, we’ve received some photos (not displayed here) from son #2. He’s circling the Gaspé, in an opposite direction to that taken by me in an earlier life. I believe the weather to be similar, as he had a night of wet camping. Hey, me too! In a ditch, with a flow through stream. Why waste time seeking out an established campground when nature provides the basics (including running water)?

Our auto is still under repair (the older one, not the new one). Here I had been under the impression that all was fine.  No matter. As soon as travel rules are normalized, we’ll go back to being a single car family. Between then and now, my trips to the post office box will be simplified. I think.

In keeping with the concept that says “it’s only money”, the federal government has promised additional funds to keep the economy ticking. Pacemaker dollars. I doubt that there’ll be any sent my way, but that’s OK. I’m good. Much better would be if some of the over-rich decided to top up my bank account.

My sympathies to the man in Toronto who will have to move his pirate ship. Like any other vessel, launched far from the rolling ocean, this one was in the eye of the real pirates (municipal government). Their take was that this might be dangerous (he built it as a plaything for his kids, and may have kept his local lumber yard solvent in these troubled times). I’ve included a photo, just so you can imagine the effort he made to entertain others. At least the confounded sawing and hammering will end.

After some interesting research for a cousin’s cousin, the family tree database moved on past the 96K mark.
