Distracted

posted in education |

Late sunset. Made me lose track of the time. To be fair, I did get up, early, but the day was much like any other. Some reading. Some music. Some dog attention. Before I knew it, my sense of duty/discipline kicked in and now I have to find something worthwhile to say about a day that was really like most others. That’s good, right?

There’s always something to read, I find. No chance I’ll get through all the books on my “should” pile any time soon, what with the distraction of a whole undiscovered world. Doing my best here. So, what did I do, today?

Well, my bicycle is ready for the summer, as soon as I pump a few more pounds into the rubber. The pump we have around here is unsatisfactory, so Amazon will bring me something better. Soon? Everything is relative, when the site reminds me that delivery should occur within the next nine months. Hold on, I want a pump, not a pup!

As well, it’s lovely outside. The most recent distraction was the discovery of a nest of field mice in the glove compartment. Apparently my preferred tuque has been sacrificed to the craft of nesting. I’ll survive, but the wee beasties are now outside, left to fend for themselves. The “inn” has closed for the season.

Anything else going on, as they say? I believe the first lobster of the season are now in a pot, wishing they’d obey the danger signals. Free fish, on a stick, in May? Be wary of anything that seems too easy.
