In spite of my trust issues

posted in technology |

I have trust issues with builders. No, nothing deep-seated; rather, a sense “will I ever see you again”. However, today, to my delight and surprise, the plumbers returned. A slightly different mix in their crew, which meant that the dog (who also has trust issues) had to go through the same “bark until sure of their intentions” greeting as earlier in the week. And the lads were on target. All the right tools, all the right skills. You see, assembling a shower stall is tricky business. When asked, the opinion offered was that this was similar to Ikea; guess I dodged a bullet.

And now, except for some minor trim to be placed by the carpenter, we have a reasonably complete full-service bathroom for any guests that come along. That’s a good thing.

I had planned to go forth and clear the deck this afternoon (we have some dodgy weather, inbound) but the snow squalls removed my ardour for that task. Perhaps, tomorrow, if the storm is late, etc.

And with that, the interesting part of the day passed me by. I did receive my order of two new exterior light fixtures (going to place some really bright LED fixtures, as soon as the risk of falling from an icy ladder in a tempest goes by). I mean, we have some light outside, but I’d like more. Or more efficient (they are mutually exclusive). With an afternoon of screwdriver and fear, I should get the replacements installed, and then I can rest on my laurels (never had them before, but little matter).

The family tree database moved on past the 91K mark this morning.
