Similar enough for memories

posted in history, technology |

Last evening, we had a very well-mannered visitor to the door. Seemed to understand simple comments, and even took the time to check out that rope we have attached to the front step. Couldn’t invite him (her?) in, though, as foxes and dogs don’t always mix well.

Today, the winds came up, and now I hear we have an inbound weather system. Unfortunately, Environment Canada now offers only vague suggestions about what will come. Could be snow, could be rain, could be nothing at all. I’m glad I don’t have to depend on the probs while deciding how to spend the day.

More battery lore in my social media feed. I can’t afford to buy anything, but I’ll do the research just the same. If anyone wants me to test and store their extra LiFePO4 capacity, I have the space.

My list of things I want to do, when compared to my list of things actually accomplished is rather unbalanced. With the amount of available time I have, getting things done should be a “slam dunk”. Not so, in reality. At times like this, I miss the guidance of a work supervisor. You know, he/she who gives me lists of things that must be done already. Oh, wait; that was back BR (before retirement). Now I’m not expected to be productive for someone else. My savings, my spending, etc.

Noticed a neat, local interest story on the web feed. Someone just re-found her late father’s car, sold after the estate was settled. For me, the detail that caught my eye was “’57 Ford”. We used to have something from that era; technically, a ’57 Ford Meteor Niagara. The paint job was different, but I’d recognize the lines, I’m sure.
