Adding books and patch cords

posted in education |

After learning that a research book I had requested was now available, it was time to go to the city. With good weather, and a full tank of gas, we were off . Now, I have other research resources available, but this was a new book, written by a local person, and I have a space on the shelf. Kismet!

We found the house, and after some delay, we got a shout from the upstairs window that we were at the right house. All that remained was the social exercise, where I presented my credentials (figuratively), to show that the book was being delivered into the right hands. Not to be taken lightly. And then we were free to head for the shops and spend small amounts of money.

In my case, I found two USB cables that actually had the correct connectors on both ends. I really wish that the industry would stop trying to create new iterations of a basic theme; yes, it lets them sell product but I will soon run out of place in the cable storage trunk. Rediculous.

I also picked up another CO2 cartridge, which assures bubbly water for another couple of weeks. The  offer of a tank (from son #2), to be picked up during our next roadtrip, will allow me to meet my need in a rational manner. No, I do not intend to start sourcing dry ice; so many other ways to get frostbite in my home.

It required several stops to fulfill the grocery needs, but now I’m good to go for another while, should winter start again. Right now, the snow is down to traces in the borders.
