Simple timeline
I have finally found a way to measure a century. Given that I’m not likely to live ten decades, I decided to go with a timeline.
|| .. Then…….. Woodstock……… Now .. ||
At one end, the Great War had just ended, although many soldiers were still in transit. At the other end, right now. And look; smack dab in the middle. Woodstock. Some of the music comes up, (Melanie!) on my favourite net radio station. My reaction? Wow, that’s a great song!
Fifty years, and I still believe. No, I wasn’t there, but I hear there was a lot of rain and mud. Just like during the Great War that I referenced. No, I wasn’t there, either. Get a grip, Junior! We’re doing an overview of a long time (by New World standards, at least.
Back to Woodstock. Many of the performers are still making audiences clap, and that’s amazing. I should do a roll call, but I lack commitment. Do your own: Wiki reveals all. Here, a couple of starters: Santana and CSNY. In the second case, not in the same room at the same time, but hey. How many of teh current talents will still be pleasing the public, fifty years from now. Perhaps they need a Wooddstock of their own, just for career reasons.
The real question is, “How will the Western World commemorate things”? Movies? A big “Survivors” concert? I need to know, so that I won’t miss it this tine around. Last time, it was too far away, and i was too you (acordingto my parents). This time around, the same excuses.
