No pet whales for me

posted in pets |

My time spent yesterday on outside tasks was good, on so many levels. Today, the weather went back to foul: the dog was seeking second opinions before any trips outside, due to the rain moving sideways in 50 click breezes. For those (in this area) still trying to get the spuds out of the ground, everything just went a day later.

In the US, a lot of bombs were delivered by the postal system today. All addressed to famous Democrats. See if you can detect  a pattern here. At least the Secret Service was up to the task, and no parcels were actually delivered. Talk about living dangerously.

I’m racking my brain here. Did anything else happen today? There was one postal delivery, oversize, containing squirrel baffles from Amazon. The contents of the box were also oversize (are seed bandits larger on the mainland?) The box is now in return mode, and I’ll wait to see if there is a sequel to the story.

I just learned that the Canadian Senate has to pass a bill before it goes to the House of commons for voting. Wasn’t the Senate there to serve as a “chance for sober, second thought”? Time to dig out the citizenship notes. Why I even learned this is because we now have a Bill (in progress) making it illegal to keep whales around the house (not the House). In all my years of visiting folks, I never met anyone with a pet whale, so is this even necessary? I live in confusing times.
