An error in my packing
While packing to travel, I had a moment of distraction. Rather than donning my jacket, I hung it on a chair while making the final preparations on a letter I intend(ed) to mail. I placed the letter, carefully, into a pocket. And then I went off to do something else. Lock the doors, possibly.
The jacket stayed safely at home, along with my wallet. I, on the other hand am now a day’s travel distant, without the normal tools for life in a commercialized world. No bank or credit cards. No health insurance. No drivers permit. I hadn’t transferred my small reserve of cash, as it was inside my passport.
Looking forward, there are workarounds. I don’t want to drive. I don’t want to get sick enough to require medical assistance. I don’t want to go shopping (yes I do, but fibs are venial in nature). Between now and the homeward leg of our “small world tour” I will be frugal and vigilant. Pray for me!
We spent a couple of hours at the house factory, checking out the new models on site and getting decorating tips from their head designer. Note; this is a symptom of satisfaction. We do not want to change our home, but simple embellishments are fun. Besides, it was very warm here in mid-NB, so a chance to see how A/C works in the home seemed like a good diversion for old folks on the road.
Tonight, a different campground and some sandwiches. Sufficient for a day in the middle of somewhere else.
