Despite the failed codec
Having gone for most of my life without donning the apron of a waiter, I can’t claim to know how staff feel about clients. Especially those who slide into chairs, just as you prepare to flip the sign. We arrived at the last moment for supper; the place wasn’t busy. As for the three other groups that came through the door after us, I’ll pretend to be deaf to the undertone of grumbles.
Of course, when you eat out late, and notice that the car is empty of gas, you also run the risk of getting the fuel fill at closing time. This time around, the lad was dipping the tanks, so I know we came late to the party. No matter; money in the till covers all other inconvenience.
Tonight is movie night. The TV software failed on a codec, so we had to bring a laptop back into the game. I imagine that by the next iteration of media, I’ll work out the wrinkles. And we are getting to watch a first-run title. Small penalty.
Sex-ed in Ontario: the new government is determined to stay the course of study they set out during the election campaign. Throw out the work (spanning years) of trained educators, and turn the clock back to a time when Conservatives felt comfortable. To ensure compliance, there will be penalties for the concerned (teachers). I don’t understand. Guess that’s why my vote will go elsewhere (and it will). I take the civic duty seriously. And the prevarications of the newly elected; wait until you change your status to newly unelected.
