Imagining a track side meal
We are back home. On the same day as my uncle used to say. This afternoon we became tourists with a trip to the area of the island where only tourists go for lots of the year. I should add that this time year it seems so much more open. Not the stores the area. No crowds of people turning the wrong way suddenly. We had the road to ourselves. And so we headed to the five corners as it used to be known. A chance to go for a meal in a re-furbished and repurposed train station. I was delighted to see an arrival board on the wall with hints of how things used to be. Of course, as the number of clients picked up so did the noise level. Train stations aren’t known for their acoustics. The real proof question well I listened to the waitress tell us all the specials and then I ordered sort of. What finally arrived at my seat for no resemblance to what I thought was coming. Pretty hard when you confuse chicken and fish. Anyhow we then retraced our tracks. Not the railroad tracks they’re all wrong. No just the road home and as it gets dark so early we did most of the trip in darkness. Seems logical when you say it but it is confusing. I imagined the powers that be will play with the clocks soon. Make me a little crazy for a couple of days. Our final stop on the way home fulfill the need. We were without any ice cream and we now have more. I do not know what flavour. That also will be a surprise. And with that our day of being tourists comes to an end.
