Do you want to know a secret?
My access to secrets is limited. Especially, Official Secrets. Unlike those who are saddled with a need to know. Of course there are exceptions. The Leader of the Opposition, here in Canada is vexed. There are secrets, and there are many who are privy. Not him, though.
Let’s take a tip from and old Beatles song. “do you want to know a secret? Do you promise not to tell? Seems simple enough. Some things are secret, because they need to be. And the average person with a need to know, is aware that personal bragging rights are not equivalent to the common good.
However, one wannabe says that he doesn’t need to swear an oath. He is above that. And in response, the doors to the fun meetings are barred to him. The rest of us can only shrug and hope that he gets a clue, soon. His job is predicated by such things. My own choice would be for him to get tired of stupid games and simply go home.
I guess that when you are rich and self-important, you do not have to follow common rules. And I guess he will have to make a choice. The next to tier on the job list will require a clearance to see the fun stuff, and if you refuse to keep mum, you won’t get to sit in the big chair, in the big office. I really hope this particular character will decide that he has enough public money in his bank account, and go on a long vacation. Elsewhere.
