Came. Saw. Calculated.

My practical science experiment is over. I wanted to know about how long I could operate our freezer if the electrical grid and my backup generator were both “out of service”, and so I put the solar generator to a test. Although the numbers mean little to anyone else, I now can brag that we would be good for almost four days. Withouth any sunshine. And I can repeat my experinent going forward.

We have also developed a plan for deplying our solar panels. I think. Need to run a few strands of wire from out there to in here, but that’s just a detail. I should be ready for winter.

Went for a beach walk, earlier. Please don’t ask what I say, because that was depressing. I could tell where the sand met the water. That’s all. A world in sand tones, with the added fear of knowing that getting back off the beach would require a guide. The dog is hopeless. I’m back home again, and I’ve shook the sand out of my shoes. Not out of my mind, unfortunately.

For a few minutes, we tuned into a football game involving the Rouge et Or and someone else. No idea which team. Let the record show that listening to the play-by-play is worse than hockey on the radio. Can’t see, don’t care. Actually, even if I had a proper video feed, on a large screen in HD, it wouldn’t change much. Fun sport to watch, if your eyes are up to the challenge. I imagine that curling will be a similar challenge, this winter.
