Remain on hold
This is our fourth week of trying to convince a large corporation to sell us some of their product. In our case, propane, with delivery. The firm brags that they’re open, 24/7/365. And I can’t argue, because you can call them. Eventually, a live human will get involved.
Today, after sixty-three minutes of hold music, on the English channel, we capitulated. Changed to the French channel, where the response took less than a minute. To be fair, the response is polite. Non-commital. We have proof that they have taken note of our case, and that we are on a list… after almost a month, I feel reassured…
It doesn’t matter. This is a situation where we have no control. Eventually, we’ll share the details on social media, but we’re just a small noise in a big world.
We had foxes, again last night. Drives the dog crazy. The outside light turned on, regularly, and the tracks in the snow prove that there were more than one. I haven’t seen the video, but there was some dance and bark routines on our outdoor stage, all for the benefit of the dog.
My main news interest involves the organized insanity in Ottawa. And dyed fuel. The authorities will have to get into the game, soon, or lose all credibility before the public. I live far from the madding crowd. But for people living in the city centre (of Ottawa), the incessant horn blowing and the traffic disruption are getting out of hand. Mockery, on so many levels. I look forward to having a trucker complain because he can’t register his ride, after too many parking tickets and a trace of red in the engine cylinders. The rest of us understand that with freedom comes great responsibility. For the unmasked bandits, not so much. Waiting for the movie-of-the-weeks version. Long term vision.
