Don’t blink
About an hour ago, the warmest moment of the afternoon: 26C. Not tropical, but given that we had a frost warning over the last couple of evenings, a suggestion that the worst of winter is past. I jest, barely. Out about in my bare toes, I know what the grass feels like once I slip into shade.
Anyhow, I decided to capture a few photos from the front flower beds. Still life, so to speak. Even though my camera was in “rapid fire mode” which means something mathematically, (7 frames per second), the tulips didn’t provide much of a challenge. Contrasting moment; I could hear the snarl of a fast bike approaching, so I turned the lens on the end of the driveway, to better catch the flypast. The photo, below, is a composite (I’m really new to that whole trip). Note that one of the frames is not like the others.
Now that’s why I keep my dog on a short leash. He can’t run that fast, but he could certainly serve as a tripwire.
Trying to help a friend with choosing a model for recording sounds. There are so many, and I’m still unsure if he knows what he wants to record. Yes, you could do the whole job with a smartphone, but there has to be a higher goal than “barely recognizable as human speech”. Call me a purist… I have enough gear around here to propose a technical solution; in the absence of a clear desire to get quality output, there’s not much point. Sometimes, you have to let people traipse through the mud puddle before pointing out that the sidewalk is much dryer.
