Beware

posted in Uncategorized |

Beyond this point, there be monsters. Armed with big rocks apparently. Or in the  Canadian context, large rocks that throw rocks. I have been following a vlog, for the last nine months, by a couple touring the known world in a Class B motorhome. They almost came by here, but a big storm and  schedule sent them elsewhere.

In the last week, they have managed to “kill” two different windshields, after getting too close to large lumber trailers. Alright now, they are under an advisory by  the experts (glass repair companies) to wait until they are back in civilization before getting more repairs. If you can still see where you are going, then save your money until conditions improve.

So, there you have it. In the wilder parts of the world, a windshield is just an invitation to collect large rocks. Good to learn that, while still here in a place that is safe. Big trucks and monsters. Who knew?

Something their vlog has taught me is that winter is a seasonal affliction, and that we get by easily here in Atlantic Canada. In the mountains, snow storms are real, and the calendar is an indication that you might be in the white for weeks at a time, as a traveler.

Going forward, I will watch for heavy snow and monster trucks.

Meanwhile, we are into a new season. No more snow. Grass coming up underfoot. Not even an errant seal on the horizon.  Imagine, if we went west, we might meet summer on a side road.
