Irrational protests
All too often, I fear for the future of my species. Today, a clip from the easternmost province, where a vaccination clinic shut down early… because of a group of protesters. There are those, among us, who interfere with the actual health care of others. And I can’t figure out why. Do the protesters get messages from another galaxy, advising disruption strategies? Think this one through, if you can. In what logical system does interfering with health care make you “stronger, better, faster”? Please, there are so many other topics that merit you standing on a street corner, shouting and waving aimlessly. Personally, I’d like you to focus on automobiles that refuse to turn on their running lights. Just a suggestion.
I’m developing alternate strategies to compensate for clouded vision. One approach is to take a screen shot, and then zoom in on the sections that escape me. Slows the reading rate, but between all and none, there is a point that satisfies me. Maybe, the surgeon will figures out how to fix what ails. Big job, but a challenge is what keeps going to the office interesting.
One of the gadgets that we have in the kitchen, without my understanding why, is a pod coffee machine. Environmentally, not where I want things to be. Anyhow, the company offeres to recycle their pods. And today, an article reporting that their strategy is a little weak (like their coffee). The firms has peen fined three million (that’s a lot of empty pods) for misleading claims. Oh, my bad. We have a machine from the competition. Not guilty (yet). Still, at what point does convenience override practicality? Coffee grounds go straight to compost, in many places. Those plast/metal containers? Not so much.
Yes, I know. Recycling is similar to an old woolen sweater. Too small, and full of holes. I do remember those terrible burning pits (the “dump”) and I sense improvement, but the simple fact is that we over produce and then dump the extra. All categories confused. Fo I try to simplify? Yes, sort of. I’m not a model for the new millenium, but some effort is made. For the record, my coffee grinds are composted, 100 per cent. Not going to consume less coffee, but that’s because I firmly believe we are all allowed one evil. And coffee is not evil. Necessary. Not the same thing. I am doing my part for the economy of a particular region. Not planting coffee tree out back, because the snow is a deterrent.
