How offended should I be?

posted in history |

That which brings joy to one and all: the dulcet, reassuring voice of our public health office(r). What we all need, right now. Unless…

When asked, given the intentions of many to travel for the holiday period, if the rules could suddenly change, bringing a generalized need to quarantine for a couple of weeks, on the homeward leg of a potential journey, the reassurance faded. If things continue as they have up until now, we should all be good. Umm; isn’t that whey we have these regular telecast?  Because it doesn’t always go well?

It’s a bit like riding on a bicycle with an out-of-round wheel.

But, don’t you fret, common person. Given the amalgam of messages from the various provincial offices, we’ll all do “just fine”.. Maybe I should ask my mother (who might be biased, as a visit from family members is seen as a positive moment in her life. With that, and my “no chance in hell of getting that “third shot” between now and the end of the Christmas period, I’m forced to plan based on a seasonal miracle.

The things that people find offensive; a puzzle. Right now, the news carries a story abut the affront to certain populations. While digging through old newspapers (best guess), someone noted that a fake village constructed in the  southern part of Alberta, (on a military base where the general public cannot go) contains a fake mosque. No mention made if any other creeds received similar facilities. But, the insult has been offered. Did I mention that this was a facility to train British soldiers? No matter. And the story is more than a decade old? No matter.

I don’t know what else to tell you. Should we tear it down? Use it was a bombing practice site? Build other churches and synagogues? What ever is decided, someone will have ruffled feathers.
