Sourced my new negative carrier
I have a dream. It involves thousands of photographs taken years ago. Now that the world has turned digital, I would like to convert my beloved images into a format that doesn’t require a darkroom and litres of toxic chemicals. And, after receiving a hint from someone else, I turned to YouTube. Based on what I saw, I’ve ordered a small piece of hardware, produced using a 3D printer. If the postal people do their part, I should receive the unit before school reopens.
Oh, yes; the name of the product. Well, check for the “Pixl-Latr”. Draw your own conclusions. I’ll wait until I have one in hand to do that for myself. At least the price was reasonable, and the creator seems like someone who wants to advance the science (he used Kickstarter).
I’ve been really fortunate, in keeping many of my hobbies “alive” for a lifetime. Not that I fear learning new things, but the older stuff worked in a predictable fashion, and I’m all for predictable.
Our carpenter showed up this afternoon with a surprise: a full bookcase, designed to be added into the new wall along the stairwell. Fit on the first pass (he does know what he’s doing). Now I can start deciding which books deserve a share of the limited shelf space.
A second evening with our fox circus. These are intelligent creatures; they adopted the new hay rolls immediately, and they have returned to play. That part is obvious. Watching the “throw the sibling off the mountain” game is entertaining – for them and for us.
