When the wireless is ephemeral

There is something very zen about waking to the sound of a good surf. Lay back, allow your ears to resonate with thousands of tiny subharmonic notes. White noise, in the original version. We had no rain overnight, but the campground is running on a low note right now, as the fairweather campers have all gone away. I feel like someone caught in a last man on earth movie.

Where’s my music?

A notice to the commercial recording industry of America; you can keep your junk food. This year, my house is Grammy-free (this has nothing to do with grandmothers, for those who are easily confused!). Moreover, it isn’t because we can’t receive the telecast, but because we are disinterested, to a man. I will let the woman speak for herself.

Someone in the office was down to New England during the holidays and came back via York Beach in Maine. More than a passing resemblance

Had to nip over to the local supermarket this evening, in case anyone wanted to eat tomorrow morning. What are the odds, with three boys around the house? A very ordinary run, for the essentials such as bread, pop, cheese, cookies, more pop, rice cakes, sugar-free jam (what the heck is that about?). A balanced diet; not a good diet, but balanced.

Lend a helping hand

We’ve had our morning coffee in the new pushmugs, and my “gut feeling” is that the Bodum doesn’t match this new camping standard. Good coffee is as necessary as a dry tent, in our circle.
